Terms of Service

Welcome to PeraPo. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of perapo.com, app.perapo.com, the PeraPo mobile app, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
PeraPo is a personal-finance and budgeting tool built primarily for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their households. Contact us at support@perapo.com.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your password, sign-in link, or OTP code. You must not share your account with anyone outside your household.
3. What the Service does — and does not do
PeraPo helps you plan budgets, track expenses, scan receipts, organize a household wishlist, compare remittance providers, and store important documents. We also provide AI features for general guidance (Legal AI, Support Bot, categorization suggestions).
Important: PeraPo does not:
- Hold, move, or custody your money.
- Execute financial trades, investments, or remittance transfers on your behalf.
- Provide licensed legal, medical, tax, or financial advice.
- Act as a bank, e-money issuer, or licensed financial institution.
All AI responses are general information only. Consult a licensed professional for advice specific to your situation.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of everything you upload (receipts, photos, documents, notes). You grant PeraPo a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you and to your household members you share with.
You are responsible for the content you upload. You must not upload:
- Content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Illegal content, or content that facilitates illegal activity.
- Malware, abusive content, or content intended to harm others.
- Other people’s personal data that you do not have permission to share.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Free tier and a 14-day Family Pro trial are available to new accounts. No payment method is required to start.
- Family Pro is a paid monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Pricing is displayed in your local currency during checkout.
- Billing is handled by Stripe. Card data is transmitted directly to Stripe and never stored on PeraPo servers.
- You can cancel at any time in Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access through that date.
- Refunds are not provided for partial months except where required by applicable law.
- Prices may change on renewal; we will give you at least 14 days’ notice by email before any price increase takes effect.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting measures.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission.
- Use the Service to send spam, harass others, or distribute malware.
- Use automated scripts to access the Service beyond documented APIs.
- Resell, sublicense, or build a competing product using our Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.
7. AI features
Legal AI, the Support Bot, receipt OCR, and category suggestions are powered by third-party large language models (currently Anthropic’s Claude). AI can be wrong, biased, or incomplete. Do not rely on any AI response as a substitute for professional advice.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-produced categorizations, extractions, and suggestions before relying on them.
8. Community forum
The community uses pseudonymous profiles so you can share experiences without revealing your identity. You must follow our community guidelines: no harassment, no doxxing, no illegal content, no financial solicitation. Moderators may remove content or ban users at their discretion.
9. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties (Supabase, Anthropic, Stripe, Xe, Resend, Twilio, etc.). Your use of those integrations is also subject to the relevant third-party terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or data handling beyond our contracts with them.
10. Intellectual property
The PeraPo brand, logo, design, code, and content (excluding your uploads and forum posts) are owned by PeraPo. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of our materials without written permission.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, bug-free, accurate, or meet your specific needs.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PeraPo’s aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to PeraPo in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) PHP 5,000. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or reliance damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify PeraPo against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, for legal reasons, or if the Service is discontinued.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, limitation of liability, indemnity, disputes) will continue to apply after termination.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. You and PeraPo agree to try to resolve disputes informally first. If that fails, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts of the National Capital Region of the Philippines, unless your local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
